Getting a look behind-the-scenes of a
live television newscast is something TV watchers rarely get to see. The talent
and hard work that goes into bringing a live 30 minute broadcast to life twice
a day is more than it appears. From the director, producer, and
cameraperson, to the on-air talent and the technical crew in the control booth,
this team makes it look seamless and perfect when the on-air talent begins to
deliver the news each day.
Students of Grades 4 and 5 of Orchids -
The International School went on a tour to Mahaa TV Station on 31/8/2012. At
the station, the students learned the history of Mahaa TV Channel. The
students toured the station and got to see the ‘control room’, which is where
newscasts and other production is ‘switched’, as well as the ‘master control’,
which is the heart and soul of any television station. They learned a lot
during the day and got to meet some outstanding individuals. It was a very
interesting ‘behind-the-scenes’ tour. Overall, the students enjoyed visiting a
professional television station.
Also, we must extend a very
special thanks to Ms.Lavanya, TV anchor who organized the activity for the day.
