‘Mother and Child Competition’

Competitions-co-curricular or extracurricular are common in schools. Some competitions remain unique and noteworthy involving the participation of parents. Parents share the enthusiasm of their children and participate in the activities organized especially for them to the delight of everyone.
One such competition organized for ‘Mother and Child’ at orchids on 27/7/13 was well attended by parents of the children of classes PPI-VIII. It was a pleasure to observe the mother and child at work either at ‘Face Painting’ or at making ‘Best out of waste’.
Their joy of participation and alacrity to wind up their work within the stipulated one hour and admirable coordination they have, make each and every ‘Mother and Child’ team, a winner indeed.

Mrs.Neha, an artist herself who helps many learn art in her Institute of Arts judged the work of the teams. Cheerful participation of all the teams made the event a successful one.

USSR

‘Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers’.

One of the objectives of Orchids is to promote reading habit among students. So it insists on USSR (Uninterrupted Self Sustained Reading) periodically when each student of every class gets engaged in reading during a specified time. It is a pleasure to watch the productive silence of reading spread in each and every class. This is followed by  Scholastic Book Fair for two days i.e. on July, 19 & 20. It coincided with the PTM on 20.7.13.
