Theme: Louis Braille- The Inventor of Braille

The theme of the assembly (from 30/12/13-3/1/14) for class V was Louis Braille – The Inventor of Braille script.

On the first day a brief introduction of Louis Braille was read out in the assembly.

On the second day a PowerPoint presentation was shown detailing Louis Braille’s earlier life and how he invented Braille script.

On the third day, a quiz was conducted based on the two days of assembly presentation.

This presentation helped students to know about Louis Braille and his invention.

English Debate Competition


A coin has two sides, same is true for a debate. It is always interesting to think about the two sides of an issue, be able to agree and disagree with a statement. Orchidians of III-V classes participated in their much awaited English Debate competition on 3/01/14. The debatable topic for participants was ‘Television is a media for education and entertainment’.

The participants were divided into two groups.
Group A spoke in favour of Education.
Group B were favouring Entertainment.

Following students were declared winner of the debate competition:

It was a pleasure to see them develop their skills of organizing the material and express their opinionsarticulately and confidently. They were able to emphasize their points of argument convincingly, appealing the audience
