Field Trip - Botanical Garden (19/8/2011)

The students of class IV &V went on an educational pleasure trip to the Botanical Garden at Kondapur. Before going to the garden, the teachers gave a brief introduction to the students about the things that they had to observe and make a note. We started at 10.30a.m on 19.8.11 from the school. On our way, the students started making a note of all the important landmarks leading to the venue. A few students started drawing the route map too.
As soon as we reached the venue the students were very excited at seeing the colourful blooming flowers. The students had a unique experience of observing different varieties of plants like trees, shrubs, herbs, climbers, creepers, aquatic plants, desert plants etc.
The students were extremely fascinated by the desert garden. They observed the different types of cacti. The teachers explained the different modifications in cactus.  Further, they observed the various kinds of underwater plants like Hydrilla, which led to a discussion on the characters of water plants. They had a wonderful experience and an opportunity to explore the nature around them. This field trip was an informative and enlightening experience .A questionnaire was handed over to the students to test their hands on experience.
